Speak Still Strange Land

KitForm, Stokes Croft, Bristol.

March 2025

Responding to expanded ideas around landscape, Speak Still Strange Land brought together new work by Jessie Blindell, Mary Flower and Rebecca Goddard. The exhibition was developed through conversation between the artists exploring the potential overlaps in their practices, and uses sculpture, photography, installation and video to explore complex relationships between human and non-human entities.

The title for the exhibition is intended as a means of inviting dialogue or exchange, whilst acknowledging the inherent discord that exists between ourselves and other forms. Taking locations in the South West as a starting point, the work responds to themes around manufacture and extraction, loss and the movement of matter, and the use of narrative to explore speculative and non-verbal communication.
